Detective Alex Cross's specialty is the extreme cases. Alex investigates "the patriot" , a case of vigilante justice. High profile officials in Washington are targeted by a sniper with insider knowledge. Also, Alex is pursuing the "numbers" killer who carves mathematical equations on his victims. Kyle Craig,the "mastermind", hides in plain sight and is relentless in eliminating Alex and his family.
