Mary Sutter is a midwife who becomes a civil war nurse. Mary wants to be a surgeon but is blocked by prejudice against women in medicine. She experiences the harsh realities and the horrible suffering of the civil war. She finds love and loneliness. Mary never gives up her quest to know more and become a surgeon. The novel includes the beginning of research to prevent wound infection and contamination from patient to patient.
A great read of historical fiction of the civil war!!!!!

A "feel good" legal suspense novel.
Legal maneuvers and courtroom strategies.
David Zinc, a young but burned-out attorney walks away from a large downtown law firm. David is unemployed and needs any job. He joins the "boutique law firm" of two street lawyers Finley and Figg. David has never seen a courtroom. Finley and Figg have never tried a case and they have a really big case. What a dilemma! There are lots of interesting characters and on the job lessons. David has to be a fast learner!
A good and entertaining read !!!!
