The Drop by Michael Connelly

Drop - Deferred Retirement Option Plan
"High Jingo" - Police and Political Overtones
Harry Bosch is the lead investigator in two cases at once. One case involves a political conspiracy and the other case a sadistic killer. Bosch closely looks at both cases and finds the holes. He is led far astray in the investigations. Bosch's code as a man is everybody counts or nobody counts. Harry Bosch is a compelling character. The Drop is a riveting read that builds suspense.
